Feeding people with beautiful food!

Sanzio is a bustling Italian restaurant in the heart of Willesden Green, just around the corner from the Willesden Green Tube Station.
Created by Maria Sundrica, Sanzio offers dishes that her grandmother might have served her as a child in their seaside home on the Adriatic Sea – uncomplicated, fresh and seasonal. It also offers a relaxing old-world atmosphere in which to relax with friends over a carafe of wine and a plate of antipasti, while waiting for plates of delicious Southern Italian fare.

The Restaurant

In the heart of Willesden Green

Sanzio concentrates on making the best of Italy’s favourite staples. Pizza, pasta and salads form the core of its main menu. Then, depending on what is fresh and in season, we develop 8-10 specials of the day. On this board of daily specials, you might find Baked Sicilian Squid with Parsley; White wine & tomatoes; Baked Pepperoni sausages with Chianti, honey and fresh thyme served with toasted ciabatta; Pan fried sea trout fillets with peas, chorizo and New Potatoes fricassea with capers and charlottes dressing; Pan frayed King Prawns, Basil and Cherry tomatoes; or Asparagus with Goat cheese, walnuts and roasted Red Peppers.

This summer, Sanzio has added a new garden room to its newly-renovated restaurant. Here you can enjoy a drink with a plate of Calamari, Polenta Chips or Foccacina ala Formaggi from our Aperitif menu while looking through the French windows onto our patio area. These tables are popular as they allow customers to dine al fresco (with protection!) in the summer time.

Only the best ones from all over italy

All of our ingredients are fresh. The only thing in our freezer is Italian gelato and ice. Literally.
Our fish and seafood are carefully selected by our trusted fishmonger and our butcher provides us with only the most tender cuts of meat. Fruit and vegetables are chosen with equal care. Our fresh pasta and gnocchi arrive twice a week from our Italian supplier in Fontanelle, comune not far from Venice. Though not extensive, our wine list is chosen with care to provide something for every palette and every pocket.

  • Excellent Italian in Willesden area
"I have been here at least a dozen times since I moved into the area and this is definitely one of the best restaurants in the area and it would put many a central London Italian to shame. It is not cheap but the food is good and the pizzas are top notch. The staff are very friendly."

  • Lovely ambiance and great service
"Love this local Italian, always a treat, a place with a lovely ambiance and great service. Staff are attentive and food always good. Would highly recommend, but do book in advance on the weekend or you may be disappointed."

  • We couldn't recommend Sanzio more. We'll be back!
"What a find! The food and service were fabulous. We were given a bowl of delicious olives on the house and for starters shared a Pizza Fornarina - a spectacular combination of Buffalo Mozzarella, mushrooms, truffle oil, parmesan cheese and basil. For my main course I had cod roasted with anchovies, rosemary and black olives. It was to die for. Our kids loved their pizzas. The crusts were thin and they tasted truly Italian. Oh and the decor is colourful, fun and cozy. We couldn't recommend Sanzio more. We'll be back!"

  • We had an amazing and memorable time!
"Before the party, Maria, who runs Sanzio, gave us great advice on what food & drink to opt for... The staff were nothing short of brilliant. We were really impressed by how friendly and professional they were. All our guests commented on the excellent standard of the food, and the service was first class. The restaurant was made to look fantastic and we were lucky with the weather which meant we could use the patio. We wanted to say a massive thank you to all the staff at Sanzio."
