Antonella has gone to Italy for a bit of rest, a bit of relaxation and of course some gastronomic research. Every day she sends us new ideas for pasta dishes; the latest being an exciting melange of walnuts, gorgonzola cheese and cooked radicchio over fresh pasta. Look for it on the menu this Friday.
Every Friday we try different dishes that chefs have been working on. Then, if a dish passes the discerning pallets of Sanzio’s team you will likely see it on our Specials Menu in the coming weeks.
Occasionally our wine supplier, Davide, comes to treat us to a session of wine tasting with different dishes. Some of our regulars are aware of our tasting times and they just happen to be passing by around the same time and then there is no choice but to have them join in!
Best comments come from Davide from Sanzio (not our wine supplier) who has great comments: I think there is not much taste hear, it’s quite blend. Or too much salt. Or my mother does not do it like this…. And this is after everybody else says it’s great! Well, we do listen to him however annoying he can be at the time, but funnily chef is first to ask him for opinion.
Finally we have some olive trees on our terrace! We couldn’t find ones big enough anywhere — that is until Antonella went to Italy and sent us some beautiful trees from Puglia – thank you Anto!
We are on our way to creating a little Mediterranean corner in Willesden! Now Antonella is threatening to send a goat! She said we could do amazing fresh goat cheese! I hope not ☺
